Luxury travel event Luxperience has officially kicked off for 2018, boasting a new organising team and location.
Now led by Diversified Communications, the event opened in grand style at Merivale’s Ivy Ballroom in Sydney on Sunday night (16 September) with the Luxperience Awards and a keynote speech by Dr Jordan Nguyen, inventor of the mind-controlled smart wheelchair.
The Inspiring Award was presented to Saffron Travels, Vietnam; the Meaningful Award went to Hands Up Holidays, UK; the Connections Award went to The Farm at San Benito, Philippines; and the Destination Award was given to Japan National Tourism Organization.
Event director Michelle Papas congratulated the finalists and winners of this year’s awards.
“The evening was a wonderful celebration of our industry, with some of the world’s most impressive suppliers and an elite group of travel stylists in the global luxury and experiential travel arena enjoying the night,” she said.
Luxperience exhibitors and buyers gathered on Monday at ICC Sydney for the first of three days of business meetings.
On Tuesday night, the newest event on the Luxperience calendar, Tuesday Night Social, will be held at the Museum of Contemporary Arts’ Foundation Hall.
The social event has been revitalised as a cocktail party, with the focus on convivial networking and fun.
On Wednesday, 19 September, business events professionals will take part in a new program, dubbed Events by Luxperience.
The new addition enables 50 event specialists to meet and connect with 15 suppliers over a two-hour session of intimate group presentations.
