The inaugural Hotel Hospitality + Design (HH+D) 2010 exhibition has announced it will host a live demonstration which will see two hotel rooms built from design concept stage to final completion in front of visitors at the show.
According to exhibition manager, Michael-William Kelly, the Dulux Refurbishment Stage is free to attend and will be constructed three times daily and full audience interaction is encouraged to create the optimum environment for visitors to learn and engage with the projects.
“The Dulux Refurbishment Stage is designed to inspire hotel owners and managers to refurbish and renew their venues in order to stay ahead of the competition. It will give visitors the exciting opportunity to witness first-hand the interior design and refurbishment process at work. The stage will be divided into two sections; one half will be a 5 star hotel room refurbishment and the other a 3-4 star hotel room makeover,” Kelly said.
Renowned Australian designers Jodi Foster and Elizabeth Tam have been chosen to apply expert skills in turning these rooms into shining examples of cutting edge interior design based on cost restraints and guest expectations.
“Elizabeth Tam is a recognised respected interior designer in the hotel industry specialising in innovative design concepts of new and refurbished international hotels. Elizabeth will be creating the 5 star hotel room on the Dulux Refurbishment Stage at HH+D 2010.
“Jodi Foster of Foster and Associates has over 20 years experience and commenced her journey into international interiors in 1993 in Europe and Asia working for retail, hospitality and commercial corporations. For the following six years she worked with large Australian firms gaining experience in and establishing a passion for the hospitality and residential design. Jodie will be creating the 3-4 star hotel room on the Dulux Refurbishment Stage and will be aided by her colleague Penny Ward. Penny has 17 years experience as a professional designer with her specialty being the leisure, hotel and hospitality sector.
“Facilitating the designers is John Eussen, a highly respected figurehead in the design and interiors industry specializing in innovative design concepts, new interior decorating practices and sustainable lifestyle trends.”
Hotel Hospitality + Design 2010 will be held from 24-26 May 2010 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre.
