A quick look at the statistics from AIME 2010 show how important this event is to the industry with $400 million worth of business expected to be generated from the two days alone.

According to AIME event director, Rosemarie Sama, the 18th Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) hosted buyers at the event rose by seven per cent to 527 from 33 countries. Approximately 800 exhibitor stands covered 13,500 square metres of floor space with 195 exhibitors.

“Exhibitors and buyers alike will… attract almost $400 million in business travel expenditure booked by attendees of the event,” Sama said.
“We are also pleased to see the AIME seminar and educational event programme has drawn large attendance this year with more than 1,000 pre-registrations recorded.”

The pre-scheduled appointment system was well utilised at the event with 19 per cent more buyers going online to book meetings compared to 2009. A total of 15,652 pre-scheduled meetings were expected to take place, an increase of 3,000 appointments or 19.3 per cent on last year.
