The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA) has announced a diverse line up of speakers ahead of its annual International Women’s Day Breakfast, which takes place next Thursday (8 March) at Doltone House Hyde Park.

The event, which is an opportunity for attendees to recognise the significant role women play in creating a successful business events industry in Australasia, will be headlined by The M Agency Founder and Managing Director, Emma Triggs. Meanwhile, City of Sydney Councillor Christine Forster; Pier One General Manager, Kim Mahaffy; Strategist, Consultant and Author, Jane Mathews; and Director of the Australian Chamber Business Leaders Council, Paul Nicolaou will also feature on the day.

Chief Executive of the EEAA Joyce DiMascio is encouraging the men and women from the industry to join the association’s celebration of inspiration and leadership.

DiMascio said: “This is not just a breakfast for women. It’s a time for everyone in our industry, young and old, to come together to celebrate the role women play in our sector. Recognising that men and women are equal contributors to a healthy economy and society is the key to our future prosperity.

“Despite significant work over recent years to bring the issue of gender equality to the forefront of economic and social progress, new data by the World Economic Forum shows that the gender gap is widening rather than closing.

“This is a social and economic issue that impacts us all and one that we must to tackle together. International Women’s Day is a fitting time to acknowledge the significant and inspirational role that women play in business and the community.

“The Association is honoured to welcome an esteemed panel of inspirational women from both within and outside the industry. They have great stories of courage, leadership and achievement to share, and are inspiring the next generation of young men and women.”
