Automotive parts group Bapcor will hold its 2019 convention on the Gold Coast, bringing up to 1000 delegates to the city.
Taking place in October over five days, the Bapcor Convention will inject an estimated $3 million into the region’s economy.
Destination Gold Coast CEO Annaliese Battista said the city is looking forward to showcasing its diverse offering to Bapcor delegates later this year.
“This is a great result for the Gold Coast and highlights our capabilities to stage large-scale conferences that deliver the best combination of meeting and accommodation venues, experiences and attractions,” she said.
“A conference of this scale contributes significantly to the Gold Coast’s economy and we’re confident these delegates will enjoy an inspiring and memorable convention in our city.”
Bapcor chose Gold Coast as the 2019 host city due to its ability to cater to a group of this size.
“The Star Gold Coast and Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, excellent offsite venues, along with the ideal weather make the Gold Coast a perfect location to hold one of the major conferences and expos in our industry,” said Bapcor CEO and managing director Darryl Abotomey.
Bapcor Convention will take place from 17 – 21 October 2019 at Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
