Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) will launch a new event in 2019 to celebrate the leading women in motorsport.
Taking place on 14 March, Women Driving Leadership will feature a keynote speaker program to coincide with the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2019.
Located at the Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, the event will present both breakfast or full-day program options, featuring the following keynote speakers:
- Ellie Norman – director of marketing and communications, Formula 1
- Chloe Targett-Adams – global director of promotors and business relations, Formula 1
- Jessica Dane – commercial operations officer and team co-owner, Triple Eight Racing Engineering
- Jacquie Hayes – founder and director, Madam Wheels
AGPC general manager of commercial, sales and marketing Corina Black said the event will be great platform to encourage and inspire women to pursue a career in motorsport, as well as science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
“The Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix strategy for some time now has been about engaging a broader audience to the sport, particularly females, and this program celebrates the very women that are leading the charge,” she said.
“Events like Women Driving Leadership provide a unique way for women and men to engage with the sport and the opportunity to network with driven, business masterminds all in a premium and intimate setting.”
The event will be hosted in partnership with Dare To Be Different, a non-profit association aimed at inspiring and increasing female participation in motorsport.
The association will have an interactive exhibit in the Innovation and Technology Hub where the younger generation can seek information, advice and meet industry role models across the four days of the Grand Prix.
