Industry flocks to Events Uncovered in Sydney

The industry arrived in droves to The Argyle in Sydney earlier this week (03 July, 2018) for Events Uncovered 2018.

Over 1,000 PCOs and Event Managers registered for the event this year, which has so far garnered positive feedback from both attendees and exhibitors alike.

Simon Cooper from Interpoint Events, the company that produced Events Uncovered, said: “Events Uncovered delivered again.

“It provided event planners the opportunity to learn about the latest event technology and looked into the future of the events. There were some brilliant speakers, innovative venues and the feedback from attendees showed they had sourced inspiration for their future events.”

This Space Client Strategy Director Lizzi Lovegrove, who exhibited for the first time this year, told Spice that they “truly had an amazing time”.

“The atmosphere was like an awesome party with all our favourite event peeps.

“What a great event to be a part of with the highest quality of attendees and event pros. Bring on next year!” she said.

World Corporate Travel Event Manager Brooke McClune told Spice that she also enjoyed the show.

“I really enjoyed my time at Events Uncovered this year. The set up was funky and stylish with something new to discover at every turn. I got a chance to make new supplier contacts and catch up with existing ones in a fun and interactive environment. Can’t wait for next year,” she said.

Jill Covitz, the Director of TCM Events and Chief Experience Officer of FUNLOCKA, also made her way across the show floor this year, she said:

“The set up was great and I liked how each supplier’s area was welcoming and easy to approach”.

However, Ms Covitz said next year, she would like to see the show expanded into Sake to make way for even more suppliers.

The Spice Temple of Knowledge Program was a hit this year, with many of the sessions either sold out or close to capacity.

Delegates heard from Shane O’Neill on the importance of getting your event photography right; Mercedes Ibbett on how to to correctly budget your incentive program; Matt White from etouches, Jo-Anne Kelleway from InfoSalons and Graeme Caplen from Entegy on the latest and greatest in event technology; Blake Vanderwoude on event security; AGB Events’ Todd Severson on harnessing the power of storytelling at your event; The Indigo Project’s Danielle Hanrahan on utilising mindfulness for creativity, and finally a panel comprised of Tonia Blume from Blumette, Julia Barnard from This Space and Stephen Thatcher from Pages on where trends come from.

In the evening, The Argyle’s courtyard was closed off for an exclusive networking event.

Guests stood beneath a gorgeous marquee provided by Pages, while happily bopping along to beats and entertainers supplied by Musicland.

Andrew Crooke from UNSW said: “The networking drinks had a great vibe. My colleague stuck around until about 9 and said she made some great connections, so a success overall!”
