Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay has opened up a previously untapped area of Fiji to event planners with over 1,500 square metres of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space on offer.

Nestled on the white sand beaches of Momi Bay on Viti Levu’s south-west coast just 33 kilometres from Nadi International Airport, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is the only property on Fiji’s mainland to offer over-water accommodation.

With a dedicated, state-of-the-art events and conference centre set back from the main resort, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is designed to appeal both to event planners and delegates alike.

With floor-to-ceiling glass windows and an abundance of natural light, the resort’s Grand Salon Ballroom can accommodate large events or conferences of up to 400 people theatre style or split into three rooms for smaller groups.

The resort’s events and conference centre also features 1,100 metres of outdoor pre-function space set around a garden, with a protective awning in case of wet weather conditions; an Island Boardroom that can accommodate up to 55 people theatre style; and a separate porte cochère with space for a red carpet to help create a sense of exclusivity and grandeur.

“Our dedicated meetings and events venues have put this previously unknown area of Fiji on the map for meetings and event planners and the feedback we’ve received from the industry since opening has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Silvano Dressino, General Manager, Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay.

Meetings and event planners can take advantage of the resort’s beachfront location by extending their functions beyond the events and conference centre to one of three outdoor event spaces.

North Point, which is located at the far end of the resort, is a great spot for a large cocktail event with swaying palm trees and panoramic ocean and lagoon views. Fish Bar, the resort’s fine-dining restaurant, has a small garden for intimate evening events where delegates can witness a famous Fijian sun set. Alternatively, Vonu Beach can be reserved for the ultimate island experience, sitting more than 500 people.

The resort features 114 Bure Villas, including 22 over-water Bure Villas with decks from which guests can dive directly into the turquoise waters. A further 136 Deluxe Rooms, which can be interconnected, provide flexibility for groups.

Delegates can choose from three restaurants offering distinctive local and international cuisines. At Goji Kitchen & Bar, delegates can engage with chefs and savour the inventive Fijian, Asian and international dishes made to order at the open-kitchen cooking stations. At Fish Bar, they can enjoy a bounty of fresh seafood overlooking panoramas of the Pacific Ocean. For those looking for a more relaxed setting, Lagoon House & Bar offers simple yet delicious Mediterranean fare using the highest quality produce. Fiji Baking Company, the resort’s bakery and delicatessen, offers freshly made pastries, sandwiches and salads as well as barista-style coffee in a casual café setting.

For delegates who like to keep active, the resort’s Health Club offers a range of onsite activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and tennis. The resort is also in close proximity to two golf courses, including Natadola Golf Course (33km) and Denarau Golf & Racquet Club (37km).
