After the devastating bus accident that marred this year’s AIME, VicRoads has installed a gantry to prevent future accidents at the Montague St bridge.

There were sixteen people involved in the AIME bus accident on 22 February, six of whom were hospitalised with serious injuries.

According the Herald Sun, the bridge had been hit over 100 times in the past six years.

There is a now a height warning system in place to ensure that vehicles over the 3m limit are alerted to the bridge height prior to reaching the underpass.
