Wrest Point

Wrest Point in Hobart has scheduled upgrades to its conference and event facilities in the coming months.

The upgrade includes new carpet, fresh paint throughout, new chairs and comfortable fixed seating in the Plenary Hall, increasing capacity from 1600 to 1650.

The Boardwalk Gallery will see new sliding doors and a new wall at the entrance, allowing event organisers more flexible floor space, access and room combinations.

The upgrade is due for completion by August 2016.

All of this comes on the back of new tailored menus, and a significant upgrade to the venue’s AV undertaken in 2015 including two 4.87 x 2.74m screens either side of the Tasman Room stage for bigger, clearer and better viewing of presentations and live video streaming during events, high definition projectors in widescreen format and new high definition SDI cabling for seamless broadcasts. There’s also a HD broadcast quality digital video camera for professional filming of live activities and a new room-wash lighting system which bathes the entire room in a range of colours.
