Tasmanian Premier Will Hodgman has officially relaunched the state’s ambassador program.

Areas of expertise within the new group include maritime research, surgery, science communication and marketing, forestry, agricultural science, anatomical pathology, marine and Antarctic studies.

Business Events Tasmania’s (BET) new ambassadors include Professor Neil Bose, Principal – Australian Maritime College (AMC), Professor Henry Duh, Director – Human Interface Technology Laboratory Australia, Paul Holper, Director – Scientell Pty Ltd, Arthur Lyons, Manager, Services –  Private Forests Tasmania, Professor Holger Meinke, Head of School, School of Agricultural Science and Director of Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), Dr Simon Torok, Director – Scientell Pty Ltd, Alistair Townsend, Medical Scientist in Charge, Anatomical Pathology – Royal Hobart Hospital, Dr Sean Tracey, Senior Research Fellow – Institute of Marine and Antarctic Studies (IMAS) and Chrissie Trousselot, Manager – Antarctic Tasmania.

Major international and national business events secured through the Ambassador Program include the 30th International Symposium on Naval Hydrodynamics in 2014 (200 delegates), the 4th International Symposium on the Ocean in a High-CO2 World in 2016 (500+ delegates from 34 countries), the OzCHI National Conference 2016 (150 delegates) and the 22nd International Congress on Modelling and Simulation (MODSIM2017) (1000 delegates) in 2017.
