For the third year running, Event Planet successfully produced Paspaley Polo in the City at Centennial Park in Sydney.

The mammoth national event series is twelve months in the planning and launched with the flagship Sydney tournament last Saturday November 17. A further four events will be hosted in Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Adelaide, where the hotly contested competition final will take place on Friday December 14th.

The event is a complex combination of variables, which includes organising the construction of a small hospitality city in a park location in each state, as well as co-ordinating thousands of guests, hundreds of corporate sponsors, polo ponies, players and umpires.

Sydney-based Event Planet has, for the third successful year, produced the Paspaley Polo in the City event.

The 2012 Sydney event attracted over 3,000 guests from all over Australia and has been dubbed a “must do” event for the social calendar. A number of prestigious corporate sponsors were involved including the naming rights sponsor Paspaley Pearling Company and Veuve Clicquot, Land Rover and Santa Vittoria.

This year Centennial Park was dotted with 57 corporate marquees, the largest amount ever. This included the standout two-storey Paspaley VIP Marquee, designed and constructed out of customised shipping containers by Event Planet, who was also responsible for creating and styling the hospitality marquees for a large number of corporate clients including Santa Vittoria, Invisible Zinc, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and the Shangri-La Hotel.

If not busy enough, Event Planet also hosted 250 guests, including the Sydney Swans players, in The Polo Clubhouse for the second year running. The Clubhouse is a popular, once-a-year attraction for the public to attend the event and participate in the activities of the day including; watching the polo matches, stomping the divots and running in the Ladies and Men’s barefoot dash.

This year The Clubhouse was sponsored by Pimm’s and a number of local retail businesses. Conceived by Event Planet as a charitable initiative, The Clubhouse proudly raised $5,000 this year, which will be donated to the Centennial Parklands Foundation.

Event Planet was recently awarded the prestigious and coveted title of ‘Australian Event Manager of the Year’ at the independently judged 2012 Australian Event Awards.
