Registrations are now open for the EEAA 2012 annual conference to be held in Melbourne on 3- 4 December providing a content-rich program of professional development and networking.

Heading the speaker line-up are presenters from inside and outside the exhibition and event industry and include marketing guru, Dan Simpson, ABC Gruen Transfer regular; Michele Levine, CEO of Roy Morgan and sales and sponsorship trainer, Richard Woodward.

The Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA), peak body for the industry, said it was important for organisers, suppliers and venues in the exhibition and event industry to invest in professional development and encourage wide participation in the event.

EEAA general manager Joyce DiMascio said this is a once a year opportunity for the industry to come together to focus discussions and learning on industry specific areas.

“Our program has been developed in consultation with our members and it provides a one day knowledge boost – combining strategic and operational content that will challenge attendees to revisit their thinking and behaviours.”

“We are challenging our attendees to Rethink. Reskill. Re-Invigorate…the power of exhibitions by acquiring new skills and new learnings. Attendees will come away with practical skills to refresh their professional competencies as well as the opportunity to engage with peers.

“In conferences, “content is king” so we created a punchy and substantial program. With people being so time poor, the EEAA conference aims to pack in a lot of material over one day,” DiMascio said.

The conference welcome event will showcase Melbourne’s newest waterfront precent, South Wharf Promenade located on the Yarra River near The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre which will be the location for the conference.

The 2012 EEAA Annual Conference will be followed by the 2012 Awards for Excellence to be held at National Gallery of Victoria, (NGV International).
