Willy Wonka’s wonderland comes to Crowne Plaza Terrigal

Crowne Plaza Terrigal, in partnership with Australasian conference booking website shortlead.com.au, recently invited a group of professional conference organisers (PCO) to enter a world of pure imagination during a famil hosted by Willy Wonka himself.

Showcasing Crowne Plaza Terrigal’s conference and events offerings, the famil saw more than 15 PCOs from Sydney transported to a magical world of sweets, reminiscent of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Guests were met by Willy Wonka’s mischievous Oompa Loompas, who lead a hotel site inspection, including the recently-refurbished luxurious guest rooms featuring oceanview balconies.

The group then entered the hotel’s atrium in Seasalt restaurant to be greeted by an array of colourful handmade sweets and frozen lolly cocktails, which they enjoyed while overlooking views of Terrigal Beach.

Crowne Plaza Terrigal’s executive chef Peter Boys-Smith was the brains behind the smorgasbord of sweets, leading the hotel’s culinary team to produce delicious desserts, including honeycomb pieces, marshmallows, mini chocolate brownies and raspberry and white chocolate ganache macaroons.

Also part of the famil experience was a tour of Terrigal in a purple Hummer. The group stopped off at the Terrigal Haven and took a stroll along the destination’s new coastal walk.

The experience concluded with a night’s stay at Crowne Plaza Terrigal, to give conference organisers a well-rounded idea of how the hotel can bring professional interactions to life through events, conferences and incentives.

The Willy Wonka theme can be recreated at Crowne Plaza Terrigal for events and conferences of varying sizes.
