The International Rally of Qld 2011 will take place from May 13-15, the biggest championship rally spectacle in Australia

The 2011 International Rally is set to be the biggest championship rally spectacle held in Australia. A record 96 cars have entered, including 16 from overseas. The unprecedented number of entries from overseas will ensure widespread media coverage and bigger audiences for the dedicated national and international broadcasts. In addition to the Sunrise weather crosses, nationally the event will be featured this weekend on Channel 7’s Creek to Coast and will be beamed across the country with 36 hours of coverage by Network Ten/ONE HD.

This international event will not only attract cars and drivers representing 10 countries, from Britain to China, but approximately 2000 team members, supporters, media and officials visiting for up to seven days.

Barry Stack, sales and marketing Manager for Rydges Oasis Resort Caloundra said, “The resort will be at 100 percent capacity for the week leading up to the rally as well as the weekend of the race. The economic benefits to the region are substantial as these teams will also enjoy getting out and about across the Sunshine Coast. We look forward to welcoming them with our Sunshine Coast hospitality.” Rydges Oasis Resort Caloundra is the official accommodation provider for the Rally.

“It is great to see the event offer multiple activities and stages spread around the region. From Friday and Saturday at the Caloundra Rally Shootout, to the Saturday and Sunday Mary Valley races in the Imbil State Forest and stop-over visits in Kenilworth and Cooroy” commented  McCreery.
