Swissôtel The Howard’s pop-up Swiss Chalet in heart of London is set to be one of the city’s most popular quirky event venues again in 2010.

The Swiss Chalet at Swissotel The Howard, London

Set to open on September 30 for the second year in a row at the 189-room, 5-star hotel in Temple, adjacent to the Thames, the Swiss Chalet is located in the property’s garden courtyard and can host private events and functions for up to 250 guests.

Swissôtel The Howard General Manager Andreas Stys said a number of events were already booked for the Chalet, which will resemble a true alpine chalet from the Swiss Alps.

“The Swiss Chalet was a big hit last year,” he said. “We knew the chalet would be a new concept for London but we did not anticipate the attention it received.

“We are very happy to launch the Swiss Chalet again this year while celebrating Swissôtel’s 30th birthday,” he said.

Authentic: inside the Swiss Chalet

Swissôtel, owned by Fairmont Raffles, was founded 30 years ago in Zurich and hotels across the globe, including Sydney, have been celebrating all things Swiss during 2010.

Swissôtel The Howard’s Chalet features an imported handcrafted and traditional interior, traditional food and drinks, offers 92 sq/m of function space and is available for events from October 1, 2010 until March 31, 2011.

The culinary touch to the Chalet comes in the form of original Swiss menus and signature dishes, such as Juniper Crusted Venison with Pistachio Rosti, and the ever-popular fondue.
