The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre was in demand last week, providing the only room in Sydney large enough to stage a sellout Business Chicks breakfast with British entrepreneur Sir Richard Branson.

Organisers originally planned to hold the breakfast for 1000 in a Sydney hotel.

Sir Richard Branson presented to a sell out crowd at a Business Chicks breakfast held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre

But when the event sold out in a record four hours, Business Chicks Events and operations manager Amber Fullerton made an urgent call to the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“I knew from experience that the Centre has the biggest room in Sydney for breakfasts so I made a quick call and booked us into the Centre’s Grand Hall. The change meant we could accommodate 1600 guests,”  Fullerton said.

Guests enjoyed a 45-minute interview session with Sir Richard while they networked over the two-hour breakfast, held on September 13.
