The Victorian government has announced a new $5 million marketing campaign to attract more interstate and international visitors to the state.

Victorian Premier John Brumby announced funding for the new campaign earlier this week to more than 700 international tourism buyers and media at the Australian Tourism Exchange (ATE) in Melbourne.

To find out what the new campaign involves, SpiceNews exclusively spoke to Victoria’s tourism and major events minister, Tim Holding.

Holding also discussed the immediate success of the new Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, which has 50 major international conferences already confirmed for the venue, which was only officially opened just over a week ago.
