With airfares to the US now costing less than $1000 per-person return, the country’s west coast is challenging Asia as the most affordable medium-haul conference and incentive destination out of Australia.

This week, representatives of more than 20 US hotels, airlines, tourist board and tour companies have been in Australia for the annual Visit USA roadshow for media and travel agents – with shows in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

Most US companies remain buoyant about the Australian market and to find out more, SpiceNews spoke exclusively to Visit USA vice president – sales and marketing, Mark Sheehan.
