Tourism Australia has announced that Sydney will host Dreamtime 2009 — an incentive travel trade event expected to bring together 100 event buyers and international media.

Tourism Australia’s head of Business Events Australia, Joyce DiMascio, said that the event provides a premier opportunity to showcase the unique business events experiences on offer in Sydney.

“Many businesses have long recognised the benefits in rewarding and motivating staff by hosting their business events in Australia because we offer outstanding experiences in remarkable locations,” she said. “The climate for the business events sector will be tough in 2009 but events such as Dreamtime are part of Australia’s long term commitment to build the country’s share of the global business events market.”

The seven-day program will see international buyers and media spend five days in Sydney, and two days at a second destination within Australia for educational visits.

The event is scheduled to take place in October with final dates yet to be confirmed.
