Organisers for the 2009 Australasian Oil and Gas (AOG) Expo in Perth are lauding the event’s success a fortnight before it kicks off, with delegate registration up 72 per cent compared to previous expo in 2007.

The increase is attributed to a number of incentives initiated to entice industry members to pre-register, such as food and beverage vouchers, pre-mailing of registration badges and a lucky door prize valued at $15,000.

“We are pleased to report that pre-registrations for AOG 2009 are well up on figures for 2007 and are continuing to grow,” said said AOG exhibition director, Bill Hare.

“This clearly demonstrates the industry’s anticipation for the bigger, better event and the growth of the oil and gas industry within Australia.”

The AOG Expo is run by Diversified Exhibiitions, which acquired it from Swan Exhibitions in 2007 and implemented a range of expansion strategies.

It has resulted in a record number of exhibitors, requiring a doubling of previous floor space at the Perth Convention Exhibition Centre as 400 companies descend on Perth for the three-day exhibition that will showcase the latest technologies and developments available across the oil and gas spectrum.

International participation at the event has also climbed with more than 80 international exhibitors confirmed for the expo where they will be housed in specific ‘country pavilions’ including USA, UK, and Norway.

“The Australasian Oil and Gas Expo will be the largest of its kind ever held in the southern hemisphere, providing direct access to local and international exhibitors and various opportunities for education. Anyone involved in the industry simply can not afford to miss it,” Hare said.
