New Zealand event-management company Hot Events has appointed Annette Pendergast, the former manager of Christchurch and Canterbury Convention Bureau, as its event director.

Pendergast’s appointment reflects the company’s commitment to growing New Zealand’s domestic and inbound conference and incentive business and coincides with the launch of a dynamic new website.

Hot Events has been bringing international conference and incentive groups into New Zealand since 2002. In the last three years its turnover has increased by an average of 20 per cent per annum. Despite the global credit crunch, it is expecting a similar increase in turnover this financial year

It’s largest and highly acclaimed event is the annual Seagate Eco-Challenge event — a team-building experience that tests the physical and emotional boundaries of endurance of 200 Seagate Technologies employees from around the globe.

“The secret to our success is that we have an exceptional team and we always go the extra mile to ensure the most professional service in a fun, creative atmosphere,” said Hot Events managing director, Dave Williams.

“With both the Christchurch and Queenstown offices, we have excellent infrastructure to support ground management operations for inbound events.”

To mark the launch of its new website, Hot Events is holding a draw to win a Hot break for two that includes three nights’ accommodation at Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa and return flights from New Zealand with Air Pacific. Click here to enter.
