The Sunshine Coast is serving up a host of activities for food-fanatics at the annual Ginger Flower Festival between January 22 and 25, 2009.

Now in its 14th year, the Festival will feature some of the region’s most celebrated chefs, cooking classes and a host of celebrity presenters and entertainers.

Andrew Strange, executive chef of The Ginger Factory, will manage the courses for small groups of up to 24. Guest chefs will include Michelin-starred Eric Van Alphen and Kieran Reekie of Maleny’s Reserve Restaurant Cellar. Courses run for approximately four hours and will be held at the Ginger Factory’s commercial kitchen.

“General visitors to the Festival need not despair as our chefs will also be hosting public cooking demonstrations throughout the four day event,” said The Ginger Factory general manager, Nichole Seymore.

Tickets for the classes are $155 and include the course, lunch, wine matching and more.
